Measuring the thickness of steel sheets produced in hot rolling and cold rolling is very important in order to ensure the accuracy of the production process and prevent the customer claiming. Most thickness gauge systems work based on X-ray technology. In these systems, a high-power X-ray beam passes through the steel sheet and based on the amount of attenuation of the beam power passing through the steel sheet, the thickness of the sheet at one point of its width is determined with great accuracy.

DORSA company, relying on the technical knowledge of its experts, has succeeded in producing the first industrial and intelligent x-ray thickness gauge in Iran. DORSA thickness measurement system is able to sample the thickness of steel sheet at very high speeds and provide its information to the user. This system is designed in such a way that it has the most efficiency by occupying the least space in the work environment. The set of generator transformer and X-ray lamp is designed in a single chamber in such a way that it does not require the use of high voltage cables and sockets and facilitates the care and maintenance of the system.

The automatic and manual calibration capability of this system along with the ability to connect to the level-2 automation and store sheet thickness data in the database are other features of this system. DORSA thickness measurement system is an all-Iranian system, except for the X-ray lamp and its detector, all parts of hardware, software, electronic circuits, high frequency inverters, control box, high voltage generator and transformer and even its standard magazine are made in DORSA company.
